According to critics, the priests are not prepared to deal with the sorry fidiciary offices. According to last data, about 30% of the Italian catholics affirm that it is not necessary to have a priest for the confession. Others 10% say that the presence of the priest "hinders the direct dialogue with God". E 20% admits that it is difficult to speak on its sins with another person.
The bishop Gianfranco Girotti, that leads the Apostolic court of Confessions and Penances, affirmed that the sacrament of the confession is in "a serious state of difficulty".
